Ashley Meier Barlow

Ashley is a sensible, caring and compassionate lawyer. Reason, Respect and Grace are the tenets that guide her in life and her legal practice. She knows that often times, people are seeking answers during stressful times, so she makes sure her clients feel understood and informed. She knows when clients have a full understanding of their situation, they gain confidence, which can help them sleep at night.

Ashley graduated Magna Cum Laude from Miami University with a BS in German Education and received her JD from Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 2006. In a former life, she was a German teacher in Jefferson County Public Schools and Cincinnati Public Schools, having taught nearly every grade from K to 12.  She also taught Real Estate and Business Law at Miami University. Her areas of practice include special education, estate planning, and probate.

Ashley is involved in her community through her service as Past President of the Board of Directors for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati, and she avidly volunteers at her sons' schools. She is also involved with the Wrightslaw; the Council for Parents, Attorneys, and Advocates; the National Down Syndrome Congress; and National Down Syndrome Society, as well as state advocacy groups.

Ashley opened Ashley Barlow Co. in 2020 to provide more reasonably priced and readily available resources to parents and other IEP Team Members.  Through that business, she speaks at conferences and seminars across the country, hosts podcasts and webinars,  teaches digital courses to parents and advocates, and operates a tutoring and coaching center.

Ever the optimist, Ashley believes there’s a silver lining to every situation and when she’s not in the office, she’s with her husband and two boys soaking up the sun at their community pool, surfing in sunny Southern California, or grabbing coffee in her 1975 Volkswagen bus.
